In the Matter of the 2026 Village General Election
in the Village of Marcellus, New York
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING VILLAGE ELECTION DAY,
DESIGNATING TERMS OF OFFICE TO BE FILLED,
ABOLISHING VILLAGE REGISTRATION DAY
AND IDENTIFYING POLLING PLACES AND HOURS
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Marcellus, in the County of Onondaga and State of New York, met in regular session at the Village Hall at 6 Slocombe Avenue, in the Village of Marcellus, New York, on the 27th day of October, 2025 at 7:00 o’clock p.m., prevailing time.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Chad Clark and the following were present:

James P. Curtin Trustee
Timothy P. Manahan Trustee
The following resolution was offered by Trustee Curtin, who moved its adoption, seconded by Trustee Manahan, to wit:
WHEREAS New York Election Law §15-104(1)(a) provides that the general village election shall be held on the third Tuesday in March, and;
WHEREAS New York Election Law §15-104(1)(b) provides that for any year in which the seventeenth day of March shall fall on such Tuesday, such election shall be held on the eighteenth day of March, and;
WHEREAS New York Election Law §15-104(3)(b) provides that the Board of Trustees of a village shall, at least sixty days before any village election, adopt a resolution which shall state the polling place in each election district and the hours during which the polls shall be open, which shall include at least the hours from noon to nine o'clock in the evening, and;
WHEREAS New York Election Law §15-110(1) provides that the village shall constitute a single election district for village elections, and;
WHEREAS New York Election Law §15-118(1) provides that a village which has adopted a resolution providing that there shall not be any registration day for village elections pursuant to subdivision three of this section, only those persons registered to vote with the Board of Elections shall be eligible to vote in the 2026 general election in the Village of Marcellus;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Marcellus, as follows:
1. That the Village of Marcellus herby designates Wednesday, March 18, 2026 as Village Election Day
2. That the general election for the Village of Marcellus shall be held at the Village Hall, 6 Slocombe Ave, Marcellus, NY 13108, and;
3. That the polls will open at 12 o’clock noon and close at 9:00 pm.
4.The offices to be filled at the village election and the term thereof are as follows:
OFFICE TERM
Mayor Four (4) years
Trustee Four (4) years
5. That there is no registration day for the Village of Marcellus as the Village opted out of registration day by resolution on January 25, 1993.
6.This resolution shall take effect immediately.
The question of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly put to a vote on roll call which resulted as follows:
